Snowman World is the snow and ice playground inside Santa Claus Village, open 6 December 2026 to 17 March 2027: ice slides, snow tubes, a skating rink with free skates, a labyrinth and an ice bar. It is the one paid thing in the village that can fill a whole day for kids, and the ticket lets you leave to meet Santa and come back.
Snowman World sits at Joulumaantie 15, inside Santa Claus Village, and is built fresh from snow and ice every winter. The 2026-27 season runs 6 December 2026 to 17 March 2027, weather permitting. Opening hours are 10:00 to 20:00 daily until 6 January, then 11:00 to 19:00. Right now, in November, the park is still being built; only the indoor Café Ensilumi opens early, from 6 November, and needs no ticket. Pick a date from 6 December when you book.
The ticket covers two snow tubing hills (big and small), two ice slides, the skating rink with free skate loan, the snow labyrinth, the year's snow and ice art, the Snowman Disco in the evening (from 17:00) and meeting the snowmen Hanki, Tykky and Lumi. It also gets you into the Ice Bar and the Snow Restaurant, but drinks and meals cost extra. Snowman World's own price for 2026-27 is EUR 35 per person, the same for children and adults, and children under 2 go free. There are no family discounts. The ticket is valid all day, so you can walk over to Santa Claus Office for the queue and come back.
It is an outdoor park, and Visit Rovaniemi puts the temperature inside the snow buildings at 0 to -5 °C. Snowman World does not rent clothing, so come dressed for a day outside. Children under 15 must stay with their parents, one person rides per tube on the big slide, and own food, alcohol, pets and drones are not allowed. The area is compact: guests with children call that a plus, and a few adults found it small. Every tour on this site cancels free up to 24 hours before the start.
The season is 6 December 2026 to 17 March 2027. The ticket is for one day, any time within opening hours.
Snowman World says early morning and late evening are usually less busy. One guest who came at opening had the tubes almost to themselves.
Start on the big ice slide before the queues build, then the small hill for little ones and the snow maze.
Borrow skates at the rink. Lunch in the Snow Restaurant is extra, with seatings at 12:00, 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30.

★★★★★But for the kids, it's absolutely fantastic! We arrived at the opening and we had the park almost to ourselves, and that was great! Almost no waiting at the buoy, almost alone on the ice rink, and the frosty slides are great when there aren't too many kids. We stayed from 11 am to 5 pm with a one-hour break between 1 pm and 2 pm to eat. We weren't bored for a second.

★★★★★There's an extra-fast tire ice track and a shorter version for younger kids. The ice rink is small, but it wasn't crowded. It was fine for a 9-year-old, but adults had a great time too. There's also an ice bar where you can order drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in ice glasses and then smash them for luck on the ice wall.
