Santa Claus Village Visit with Lunch

About this experience

A van collects you from your accommodation in Rovaniemi for the short ride to Santa Claus Village, 8 km north of the city. With the guide you head to Santa's office to meet Santa, then to Santa's post office, where you can send cards with the Arctic Circle postmark, and on to the Arctic Circle line for the photo. Lunch is a buffet at one of the village restaurants, followed by free time for the shops before the transfer back. The listing runs in English and the guide scores 5.0/5 in its review summary.

Entry to Santa Claus Village is free, every day of the year, and so is the normal meeting with Santa at Santa Claus Office. What costs money there is the official photo: Santa Claus Office sells photos and video from EUR 57 in 2026, and your own phone or camera is not allowed in Santa's room. The listing says the same: elves photograph the meeting, and you can buy the photos and video after, at a cost not included. Mid-November to early January is the busy stretch. Santa Claus Office says to allow about an hour in the queue inside in December, and on the busiest days you first collect a free entry time from an elf at the small red cabin by the Arctic Circle line. Those times can run out after midday. A guide can collect the free entry time for you, but the queue inside still applies, and in three hours it shapes the visit. Thermal overalls and snow boots are available for an extra EUR 10, and the listing asks you to bring cash. A reindeer visit in the village costs a small extra fee on the day.

Three hours is enough for the main sights outside December. In the Christmas rush it is tight for Santa, lunch and shopping together, so tell the guide early which part matters most. Paths in the village are often icy: one guest learned that the hard way. Every tour on this site cancels free up to 24 hours before the start.

great guide Sara, excellent communication, everything was perfect down to the smallest detail, the guide herself told us what was worth seeing, what was not necessary, the timing was great for the smallest number of people around...
